Gambling Literacy Awareness

Gambling Literacy Awareness

Nova Scotia was the first jurisdiction in North America to launch a Responsible Gambling Awareness Week. Years later, that week has now evolved into a year-round campaign, with a focused “Awareness Week” once a year. This campaign is just one example of Nova Scotia Gaming’s commitment to fostering safer play and informed decisions for Nova Scotians.

The latest campaign highlights the importance of gambling literacy. We want Nova Scotians to know: the more you understand the games you play, the more likely you are to enjoy your time playing.

Every year during the first week of October, we mark Responsible Gambling Awareness Week with a series of activities across the province. The week highlights the work we do all year long to help you understand the odds of winning and losing, as well as understanding the games you play.

We use the week to launch a public campaign to provide players with important information about responsible gambling. Here is an overview of recent campaigns.
